Benefits of moving before selling

Moving to your new home before placing your property for sale has benefits and can make your move more enjoyable. You can avoid the stresses of keeping a property in show condition and have more flexibility in downsizing.

For example, you may receive little notice from agents wishing to show your property. As a seller, you must have your property in showing condition at all times. Agents also recommend you leave during showing appointments to allow potential buyers space to envision the property as their home, as well as not harming your negotiating power by accidentally revealing too much information.

After your property is vacant, property touch-ups are often required to get the house or condo in its best condition to sell, and leftover furniture can be used to stage the property. At Fox Run, I help with floor planning for the new apartment so new residents can move the furniture they want to keep and leave remaining furniture in the property they are selling.

Making these changes to your property before listing can make a great impact on salability and promote a much shorter market time.
