Improve your vino vocabulary

Posted on Thursday, October 02, 2008

Join Monarch Landing residents and staff at the community’s first-ever wine tasting, Saturday, Oct. 18. The evening will feature six different wine tasting stations, where guests will sample a variety of white, red, and dessert wines.

Veteran wine instructor Mike Yang will be on hand to answer tasters’ questions about the wines. Yang, who has been collecting wine for 40 years, is a three-time winner of the nation’s oldest pro/am wine tasting contest at Chicago’s acclaimed Geja’s Café. Monarch Landing’s own Chef de Cuisine Henry Escobedo will prepare appetizer pairings to accompany each wine selection.

The event will be a fun-filled opportunity to try some new wines and increase your knowledge of wine.

When: Saturday, October 18, 2–5 p.m.

Where: Monarch Landing’s Millstone Lounge

Cost: $15 a person for five wine tastings; additional tastings can be purchased for just $1

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 630-548-0400.

*Must be 21 to participate
