THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

Erickson Retirement Communities recently acquired Point Lookout, a mountainside retreat tucked away in Northport, Maine.

The wooded resort has plans to become both a retreat center for people who live at Erickson communities and a meeting location for Erickson employees from around the country.

“The vision is to have seniors spend a few days engaged in sessions ranging from financial planning to getting VIVA! health assessments,” says Chief Operating Officer Mark Erickson of the new property. “It’s also going to be useful for industry seminars and training.”

Amenities galore
The 387-acre setting located on Ducktrap Mountain boasts 106 log cabins and eight main buildings. Recreational facilities include a full size bowling alley,  gymnasium, and fully outfitted fitness center. The conference rooms all include state-of-the-art systems for weeklong conferences. The grounds were previously used as a corporate retreat center.

The property’s crown jewel is a conference center nestled in the side of the mountain with breathtaking 270-degree views over the islands of Penobscot Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
