Hijacked Browsers

Recently I have received numerous e-mails regarding “Hijacked Browsers.” Users open their Web browser of choice and are taken to pages they never requested. Pop-up windows open and there is seemingly nothing they can do about it, even resetting the Home Page in the browser settings is useless. It is usually at this point when I recommend installing and running software to remove the culprit. What is the cause of these troubles? Spyware.
