Mighty Magnesium

Magnesium isn’t a nutrient you hear too much about, but one study of 165,000 people suggests not having enough may increase your risk of type 2 diabetes. Magnesium also seems to benefit muscle and nerve function. To move toward your recommended daily allowance (320 milligrams for women, 420 for men) try these: 1/2 cup of cooked spinach (65 milligrams); two tablespoons peanut butter (50 milligrams), or one ounce of almonds (86 milligrams). Don’t forget to take your multi-vitamin every day and always talk to your doctor.
