| Jeff Watson in a recent issue says that the "carpenter's son" said that if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one." I presume he refers to Jesus. If so, there is no such quotation in the gospels. What Jesus did say was, "If someone smites you on one cheek, turn to him the other" (Matthew 5: 39), and "He who takes the sword shall perish by the sword" (Matthew 26: 52).
