| I think it's amazing that technology allows us to revisit and possibly even solve crimes years after they've been committed. What do you think? Any other thoughts on this article? |

| My boss is a member and I am his associate. We have participated in a number of cases that have been reopened because of the work we have done.
It is very exciting. Everyone donates their time and anyone who has a certain expertise relating to the crime is needed, e.g.crime scene reconstruction or handwriting expertise then they are sent related documents to the crime to work their part based on their past expertise.
I wish our greater Metro city would have a cold case squad but it seems no one works for free anymore. Such a tradgedy because if I had a loved one killed, I would like justice done and be able to bury my loved one knowing that justice had finally been served. Maybe if someone in Congress or someone of a prominent sic family had it happen to them, then the laws would change.
I know the prison system has a small percentage of innocent people, so before I would vote for the death penalty I would want DNA evidence so there would be no doubt that the person was guilty.
Interestingly enough, many of us in the forensics field think that Ted Bundy may have actually killed more than the number of women he confessed to killing at his Florida trial. |

| I'm the historian pictured with the bust of "Boulder Jane Doe" in the cold case article. I brought the case to the attention of my local Sheriff in 2003. Since then, we have exhumed her remains, done a DNA profile, completed the facial reconstruction, and even been on "America's Most Wanted," all with the help of the Vidocq Society. We are still trying to make an identification so as to return the victim's remains to her family. Please go to www.boulderjanedoe.com for more information. Thanks! |

| Well sourced and well written article. Thank you for bringing attention to this important issue in criminal justice. I have worked as a forensic scientist for over 25 years and I am delighted that so many of our colleagues in the Media see fit to make solving cold crimes and especially murders and sexual assaults a reporting priority. The attention and interest that the Media has brought to Forensics has greatly helped with funding and political focus. Please keep up the fine work! |
