The majority of files that may be taking up space on your C drive are probably located in your My Documents folder. Many times these files consist of photos, music, videos or anything else that you may download onto your computer. It usually doesn't have much to do with the programs you have on your computer. I'd recommend purchasing an external USB hard drive which have recently dropped in price, can be acquired from any electronics or computer store and require no installation. The other option is to backup some of your photos or other files in your MyDocuments folder to CD or DVD if you have a CD or DVD burner. Most new computers have this and if you do not, you can also purchases those add ons as external units that are also USB burners. One warning though, if you have an older computer (more then 2 or 3 years), you may not have what is called a USB 2.0 connection so you make want to verify this before you purchase an external hard drive or burner. Otherwise you may run into some compatibility issues. If that is the case, I'd recommend having a hard drive or USB 2.0 card installed into your machine. Sometimes you may find that cost of computer repair is just as expensive as purchasing a new computer, but installation of hard drives or DVD burners should run you no more then $80.
