Over 25 years of bipartisan deregulation, privatization, globalization, and the rest of the voodoo economic scam has wreaked havoc, of which some of the more blatant examples are Enron, Worldcom, Tyco, Halliburton, Blackwater, and corporate lawlessness and unaccountability in general.  The pendulum has swung so far to the right that the only rational response is to send it back well past the center.

Of course, even that will have to be much more gradual than would suit me, because of all the Democratic primary contenders, only two (Gravel and Kucinich) are even marginally to the left of center.  Of the remainder, Edwards is the closest to the center from the right, but like the others on that side, his compromise plan still involves the insurance racket that has been practicing medicine without a license at least since Tricky Dick unleashed the HMO scam on the unsuspecting traditional voters who overwhelmed the visionaries of the 60's and 70's.  Socialized medicine is the norm in the civilized world.  It's about time we once again became a member of that elite group!
