This article said that Popenoe warns cohabitation, pre-marital sex, and out-of-wedlock childbirths are "not the building blocks for the good society that people want." I found it very interesting to see such a statement in a newspaper. I consider myself to be a normal, 19-year-old, college student. However, I feel very abnormal when it comes to this subject. I feel like everyone around me is having sex, having kids, having abortions, having more sex. I know it is very important to be committed to one person, and I know abstinance until marriage helps a lot. I was hoping the article would mention how cohabitation seems linked with increasing divorce rates. I was also disappointed it didn't mention the huge influence the media has.
