What do you think of the humanitarian group turning down U.S. food aid because it hurts poor farmers?  Do you think they make a good point, or are they ungrateful?  Share your thoughts.

I strongly support the idea that aid, as we generally know it, does, indeed have a negative consequence.

We see it happening here in this country as it is used to pay for the support of the poor, at tax-payer expense, and actually encourages the poor to refuse to leave the "certain income" and remain poor.

This perpetuates the problem by removing the motivation to become self-supporting. Even governments refuse to give up the aid, and even threat to take violent action to keep it going in order to remain in power and keep the population in subjection and dependence.
