| Read Ehrman's new book on the subject. His treatment is the best I have seen, and clear. |

Thanks to Jeff Watson for a wonderfully touching and inspiring article. I would like to add two things.
1. Frederick Keeler, an early 20th century minister and writer, pointed out that this is 'a game of life'. He compared it to golf. Who would want to play golf on a flat, clear grassy field? b-o-r-i-n-g! In fact I did that once but never again. It is the bunkers, hills, ravines, sand traps, water hazards that give the game its life, even though we grouse at them when they come. So with our lives day by day. These challenges are what give it meaning.
2. Following that thought is what I believe to be my reason for this life: to evolve spiritually into a higher level of consciousness. These experiences are the lessons, painful though they are, that move us onward in our spiritual growth. And my second life purpose is to share this wisdom with others, as Jeff has done for us here.
