Hello Louise, let me offer some help:

The "Sit Down and Shut Up" website is http://jlcrabtree.com/sdsu/

Your book seems very interesting, Louise.  I'd love to get your insider's opinion on the state of the public education system these days with the "No Child Left Behind" initiatives, and practice of putting the statistics and test scores over the kid's learning and needs.

Thanks for correction for the website. In my book I blast what is going on concerning multiple testing which consumes an inordinate amount of time away from curriculum and instruction. With "No child.." teachers are constantly preparing students for tests while the actual time devoted to testing also eliminates time for curriculum instruction. But even before this, I write how curriculum was continually softened for more activities, school trips, etc., all under the umbrella of keeping everybody happy. Partly, this is a societal problem with unions, governmental controls making decisions, a just be happy attitude, and lack of discipline and respect. Then there is the problem of appropriate teacher training, again addressed in my book. Enough already, perhaps another book on this. -lc
