Have you had the chance to read "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey?  What do you think about the controversy surrounding this book?

I read the book after seeing James Frey on Oprah. The book was fascinating - especially when I believed it was all true. I was very disillusioned when I found out that James Frey had elaborated on the truth and although he stated in his second interview on Oprah that all the events were true, when put to the test, he admitted he had made up portions and elaborated on details, including the scene in the dentist's office where he had two root canals without benefit of pain killers. I do have to say, however, as I was reading the book, I kept thinking that I was amazed at his detail from a time he was recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and not necessarily clear headed all the time. Read the Smoking Gun research and you'll see how he fooled so many people including Oprah. I feel duped.
