THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Before coming to Wind Crest, Merlin and Pauline Neff never thought much about fitness. Today, they work out together five days a week, and they feel better than they have in years.
“We never really worked out before, but it’s so convenient here,” says Pauline Neff .
With the fitness center right in the clubhouse, the Neffs don’t have to brave snow or icy winter roads driving to a gym—which makes it easy to fit in a workout. “We just walk down the climate-controlled walkways to the fitness center and we’re here,” she says.
A new way of life
Pauline Neff says the change from being relatively sedentary is dramatic, but it’s fun: “Working out has given us a brand-new way to enjoy each other’s company and meet new people at the same time.”
Like the Neffs, Wind Crest resident Lillian Nicoletti is relatively new to the workout scene. “I never had the time to shop around for a gym, not to mention the cost of a membership,” she says. But she fell in love with Wind Crest’s fi tness center from the start.
After getting a personalalized fi tness evaluation from Wind Crest’s wellness coordinator, Nicoletti began with strengthening her upper body and back. When she added cardio, her energy skyrocketed. “I feel absolutely renewed afterward,” she says.
Reaping the rewards
The Neffs say they are stronger than ever. “I feel like we’ve been reborn here,” says Merlin Neff .
Pauline Neff says: “One morning, I was in the saltwater pool just before sunrise, and I could see the faint silhouette of the mountains in the distance. I thought to myself, ‘How could you be so fortunate that God put you in this place? What more can you ask for?’”
