As Colorado’s snowcovered slopes give way to fields of green, the list of summer activities comes into bloom. And whether you’re a future Wind Crest community member or an area resident, there are more upcoming events  nearby than you can shake a walking stick at.

Outdoor concerts
Free evening concerts are planned at two locations during June and July—one on Wednesdays in front of the Littleton Historical Museum and another on Thursdays at Highland Heritage Park in Highlands Ranch. Bring a comfy blanket, some goodies, and enjoy a variety of music against a picturesque Colorado sunset. To learn more, visit www.littletongov.org/museum/events/ or www.hrcaonline.org and click on Events.

Throughout the summer, Hudson Gardens Event Center (located near Wind Crest on Santa Fe) will present a host of musical acts including the Beatles tribute group Fab 4, soul/blues great Hazel Miller, the John Philip Sousa Band, The Lettermen, and more. Bring blankets and lawn chairs! For schedules and prices, visit www.hudsongardens.org and click on Concerts under the Calendars button, or call 303-797-8565.

Film on the Rocks
For entertainment with a twist, try Film on the Rocks at Red Rocks  amphitheater in Morrison. Now through August, you can enjoy a band and a feature film together for just $8. Nestled in the foothills to the west, this breath-taking amphitheater was once listed among the Seven Wonders of the World.

Gradual earth movement slowly raised the great red sandstone ledges from the prehistoric ocean floor to form the amphitheater “walls.” Tickets are available at King Soopers. Visit www.redrocksonline.com for details.

Wind Crest residents don’t have to leave home to enjoy warm-weather activities. Golf enthusiasts can polish their skills on the putting green. For those with a green thumb, the Wind Crest community garden offers space to plant and cultivate whatever you want—including your own produce!

If you’re a walker, hiker, or biker, don’t forget about all the trails along the Highline Canal, accessible just steps from your front door.
