THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Did you know that the school bells were ringing in Highlands Ranch, Colorado?
But these classes weren’t typical math or science. And the students weren’t typical either. They were a bit older and a bit wiser. It wasn’t an elementary school, or even a college course. This was a class simply for those who wanted to enrich their lives.
The Erickson Center for Continuous Learning at Wind Crest kicked off its first in a group of continuous learning seminars on Feb 20 with a class entitled, “Preserving Your Family’s History.” The class helped its students learn how to capture memories for future generations. Gerontologist Karen Owen-Lee explained how to preserve family’s tales, escapades, and traditionsfor future generations to enjoy.

The Center for Continuous Learning was developed as part of founder and CEO John Erickson’s vision to provide a meaningful, valuable lifetime learning experience to people during retirement. “These are for people who have that insatiable thirst for knowledge, for those that understand learning doesn’t stop once you finish school.”
“It was a fun day,” Molly Thorne-Dhieux, retirement counselor at Wind Crest said of the first event. “It was a nice blend of learning and fun. I think the students and Karen all had a great time. It was nice to have someone with such knowledge take time out of their day to join us. And the presentation was fun and informative. I think everyone enjoyed it."
