THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

Some people are ready to move right away. Others are planners. Despite having very different reasons and having very different time frames, a record number of Coloradans are finding that joining the Wind Crest Priority List is right for them.

A methodical approach
Robert
and Grace Weber, of Greenwood Village, knew what they wanted in a new home. Robert, a golfer, loved the idea of being near some of the best  courses in Denver. Grace, a gardener and photo cropper, said that she wanted a view from her kitchen to inspire her.

So they did their homework. And after talking to friends and researching other communities in the area, they decided that Wind Crest was the place for them.

Getting there
“The location was key,” Robert said on the decision to choose Wind Crest. “It  is in a great spot and is right next to a great golf course. Plus, we knew the great view that it would give us” being located near the Front Range and Highline Canal.

They decided a two-bedroom, two bath Lancaster floorplan would be right for them. An extra bedroom and extra bath means guests could stay the night. The picture windows in the model were a huge draw. It would give them the views they wanted and plenty of natural daylight for houseplants. But, the popular style was in high demand. So the couple joined the Priority List.

An opportunity presented
Then, just a few months later, the Webers received a phone call from  Retirement Counselor Molly Thorne-Dhieux letting them know that the style of their choice was available. They would be able to move in to Wind Crest by the Grand Opening this summer.

Because they joined  the Priority List, they were given the right of first refusal. They jumped on the opportunity. Robert said, “The Lancaster is the home we really wanted. The Priority List is a reason we are getting the home we want. Actually, you could say it is the reason.”

Looking to the future
Dick
and Davie Harding are planners.

They are both in good health, enjoy  outdoor activities, and caring for their home. But the couple said that a time will come when they won’t feel like  dealing with the hassles of homeownership. A time will come when they want more freedom.

The couple currently has someone to handle the mowing around their house but this past winter’s snowstorms reminded them of the future. “It’s those normal outdoor chores that I’m sure I won’t want to do forever,” Dick said. “Like shoveling snow—for now it’s not bad to do, but it’s nice to look to the future and know you won’t have to do it.”

The couple is looking for a two bedroom apartment home with a great view  from the kitchen. And having more time for themselves will be a bonus. “It will be handy to have all of those special interest clubs nearby to join,” Davie said.

In good time
Dick said that the couple is not ready to move in to Wind Crest for a few years but believes their lifestyle will be improved when they do. “It simply means less time on chores and more time for yourself,” Dick said.

By the time Dick and his wife Davie are ready to move, they will likely be at the top of the Priority List. In the mean time, they will just be passing their  apartment style of choice along to the next person in line on the Priority List.

“Everyone looks to stay in their own home,” Davie said. “But the time will come when it becomes too much. And the Priority List is the way to go,” she said. “It’s always a good idea to have something in mind for the future.”

A rare opportunity
Joining the Priority List also means exclusive invitations to activities like luncheons, roundtable discussions, and yearly gala events. But most  importantly, it gives you an “inside track” to the first Erickson community to come to Denver. Joining the list improves your odds of getting the home of your choice.

A record number of people are joining Wind Crest’s Priority List in order to secure their spot at Denver’s first Erickson community. To date, 497 people have joined the exclusive list for their opportunity to live at Wind Crest. “It really is the best opportunity to get the home you want,” Retirement Counselor Molly Thorne- Dhieux said. “No matter your time frame, if you are interested in Wind Crest, joining the Priority List gives you a leg up on the competition.”
