Wind Crest and Erickson Retirement Communities announced this week that Mike Conway will serve as Director of General Services for the new community coming to Highlands Ranch, Colo. In the position, Conway will oversee a number of departments including maintenance, security, custom interiors, and transportation.
“My job is to keep the campus up and running, on a lot of different levels,” Conway said. “From maintenance to security, my job is to ensure that the residents don’t have a thing to worry about. I like knowing that what I do every day helps make peoples lives worry-free.” Wind Crest is slated to open in the summer of 2007. Conway is another highly experienced leader who will serve at Wind Crest. He joins along with Executive Director, Craig Erickson.
Conway is not new to his job duties. He brings plenty of experience to the position. He performed the same job for years at other Erickson Communities across the country.
A variety of experiences to draw from
“You have to be able to change gears quickly,” Conway said of his job. “From one day to the next, you’re always working on something different. It’s important to listen to what the residents are saying. From making sure the snow is cleared to planning the shuttle’s route to shopping centers, I have plenty to keep me busy.”
And Conway’s background is as diverse as his daily job-duties. He holds a Masters Degree in psychology from Salem State University and years of experience in development and operations with Erickson Retirement Communities.
“It’s great to have someone with that much experience and know-how on our team,” Executive Director of the Wind Crest community Craig Erickson said. “He’s a people person and he’s got an amazing work-ethic. We couldn’t be happier to have him here. And I know the residents will benefit from having someone with his experience on board.”
