Wind Crest Welcomes the Hanks

Posted on Wednesday, February 01, 2006

Warren and Helen Hanks joined the Priority List the day after the Welcome Center opened at Wind Crest. As members of the Priority List, the Hanks have the opportunity to express their preferences, prior to others, for the apartment layout and location that will best suit their needs. They’re angling for the Williamsburg floor plan. Their risk-free deposit also secures opportunities for the Hanks to attend exclusive events and seminars where they will learn even more about Wind Crest and the advantages of living in the community. Joining the Priority List secures your future at Wind Crest.

The Hanks moved to Colorado early during their careers to pursue employment opportunities. She grew up in Iowa while he moved east from California. At home in the Castle Rock area, the Hanks found a place to raise a family, enjoy the outdoors, and pursue their passionate commitment to helping others.

Discovering Wind Crest

When asked how they first encountered Wind Crest, Warren Hanks says, “We got the paper.”  He’s referring to the Erickson Tribune that he receives monthly at his home. Although the Tribune provided many of the answers he sought, he chose to learn more about Wind Crest on the Internet at www.EricksonCommunities.com.  Since the Denver web pages were still under construction, the Hanks requested more information from the Erickson Community in Dallas.  Helen says, “They even invited us for lunch in Texas!”  After reviewing the Highland Springs Information Kit, the couple eagerly awaited news from Wind Crest.

“We were originally members of the Priority List at another community in the Denver area, but were very dismayed because it is so expensive”, says Warren.  The Hanks found the Wind Crest Information Kit impressive because it represented life at the community well.  An element that most impressed them is that you do not pay for community elements and resources that you do not use. In response to a question about the value of Wind Crest, Warren says, “If the financial package weren’t attractive, we wouldn’t even be interested.”

Community Leaders

Helen and Warren serve the greater Denver area with gusto.  Helen has served as a president or board member for many non-profit organizations and charities over the past ten years.  Currently, they serve as presidents elect for Arapahoe House, a comprehensive health and services program for individuals and families coping with drug and alcohol addictions or other behavior health problems. At Wind Crest, residents will have plenty of opportunities to share their talents and shape community life.  As Helen says, “We’re very involved for old folks.”  The Hanks plan to stay that way!

The Hanks have even impacted their friends’ and acquaintances’ opinions about Wind Crest. Terri Radcliffe, Marketing Director at Wind Crest says, “Five couples have joined the Priority List due to a referral from the Hanks—the number could be greater—not everyone says, ‘Helen sent me’.”

Looking Forward to the Future

The Hanks are excited about the move to Wind Crest because they’ll have more time to spend with their children and grandchildren plus they can pursue opportunities to travel. With the Wind Crest maintenance team, the restaurants and dining staff—not to mention the many other available conveniences—the Hanks will spend their time at Wind Crest swimming, socializing and practicing their short game on the putting green.  Helen is also excited to have access to the Highline Canal, “We enjoy walking there,” she says. The Hanks also enjoy activities on the water, playing cards, reading and spending time with friends and family.  Without a doubt, Warren and Helen Hanks will also become pillars of the Wind Crest Community.
