THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
The weather outside may be frightful, but for residents of Tanglewood Creek, life will be nothing short of delightful— even in a blizzard.
Colorado winters can be brutal, with heavy snowfalls and treacherous conditions that can render us prisoners in our homes. We usually stock up, curb our driving and activities—and spend lots of time and energy making sure our homes can take whatever Mother Nature dishes out.
“Winter can be a stressful time for older homeowners,” says Tanglewood Creek Retirement Counselor Kelly Ornberg. “They worry about things like snow removal, driving, and when the furnace might break or pipes may burst. It can also be a lonely time, since many people tend to socialize less,” she says.
But come 2010, residents of Tanglewood Creek will be able to thumb their noses at Old Man Winter and enjoy every minute, all season long.
Town under one roof
When snow and slick streets force homeowners to stay home, Tanglewood Creek residents will be enjoying gourmet meals in the restaurant or toasting new friends at a sing-along happy hour in the lounge. While homeowners stress over how to clear 18 inches of snow from the driveway, Tanglewood Creek residents will rest easy knowing it’s being handled by maintenance.
“At Tanglewood Creek, you’ll never get that snowedin feeling again, because just about everything you could possibly need—from the medical center to the pool to the restaurants—is just down the hall,” says Ornberg. And thanks to glass-enclosed, climate-controlled walkways that connect all residence buildings to the clubhouse, Tanglewood Creek residents won’t have to step one foot outside to get there. There will even be a market on campus where people can pick up a few basic groceries—or even specialty items like greeting cards—without having to get behind the wheel.
