The power of priority list membership

Is planning for the future one of your priorities? It is for many people in the Westminster area who, as a result, have joined the priority list at Tanglewood Creek.

“The earlier someone secures a spot in line by joining the priority list, the better chance they have of getting the apartment home they want when they’re ready,” says Tanglewood Creek Director of Sales and Marketing Jason Longwell.

Secure what you’re looking for
The priority list is a group of people who have put down a fully refundable $1,000 deposit to reserve their place in line for the apartment home of their choice at Tanglewood Creek.

“A lot of people have specific ideas on where they want to be, and many have  floor preferences,” explains Longwell. Becoming a member of the priority list allows people to specify what they want so that they’re at the top of the list when it becomes available.

And now that Tanglewood Creek’s priority list is building momentum, every day a person waits to join, more people get in line ahead of them.

“We wanted to get on the list early to increase our chances of getting the kind of apartment we want,” says Tanglewood Creek priority list member Bob Carlson. So far, the Carlsons are favoring main-floor or first-floor apartment homes—but since membership allows them to change their criteria at any time without losing their spot, they can sit back and relax.

No reason to wait
The perfect time to join the priority list is before you think you’re ready, says Retirement Counselor Kelly Ornberg—especially since you can pass on an available apartment home as many times as you need to and the $1,000 membership fee is 100% refundable. After all, many people end up deciding that they’re ready to move sooner than they anticipated.

“Initially, my wife and I told our retirement counselor that we wouldn’t be ready for at least two years, if not four or five,” says John Lillie, who moved to an Erickson community after joining the priority list. “Then we started realizing how fast this place was selling and how many people were getting on the priority list.”

The Lillies are thrilled with their decision to move in sooner. And looking back, they’re glad they joined the priority list when they did, or they wouldn’t have had the option.

“If you think about it, it’s silly not to join,” says Mrs. Lillie. “Since the $1,000  fee is 100% refundable, it really costs you nothing. And if you do move in, they roll it into the cost of your entrance deposit, which is also 100% refundable.”

Broomfield resident Henry Thomas says the recent surge in priority list activity in Westminster has gotten his attention. “Tanglewood Creek’s priority list has gone from 17 to 73 between July and August,” he says. “I’d better get it in gear, hadn’t I?”
