THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Tallgrass Creek has grown with the opening of Redtail View, the newest building at the retirement community in Overland Park. People started moving into the building in March.
Named in honor of the area’s Redtail hawks, the building is located beside the tree-lined creek that meanders through the campus. The creek was restored after being neglected for many years. Erickson planners believed it was worth saving.
Perfect view
Redtail View’s proximity to both the creek and the Audubon Clubhouse is a big draw for new residents, says Tallgrass Creek Retirement Counselor Jane McIntire.
Residents can use the climate-controlled walkways to get to the Audubon Clubhouse, which brims with amenities—everything from restaurants and an aquatics center to a bank.
“Those creek-side views are lovely and it is so close to the clubhouse,” says McIntire. “Redtail View will always be popular on this campus for that reason. It makes going to your aerobics class or bridge club meeting that much easier.”
The overwhelming response to Tallgrass Creek since its grand opening last October impacted the construction schedule and allowed the second building to be opened, says Director of Marketing Suzanne Cole. Tallgrass Creek is now home to about 100 residents.
Perfect timing
The timing of Redtail View is just right, McIntire says, because people can move into their new homes before another round of foul weather returns next fall.
“For those who are considering making a change in 2008, before the next cold winter, a floor plan option in Redtail View might be the perfect fit,” she says.
Redtail View has 3 new floor plans, and there are now 17 different floor plan options between the new building and the first residence building, Bluebird Crossing.
