Good books—actually, lots of good books—have found homes in the new Tallgrass Creek library.
The library’s grand opening was on Feb 7. Located on the ground floor of the Audubon Clubhouse the library is open from 7 a.m. to midnight every day.
A committee of 12 residents, led by Paul and Dorcas Doering, organized more than 2,000 books. The library is arranged more like a bookstore than a library, and there are a wide variety of titles, Dorcas Doering reports. She anticipates that people will be surprised by the extent of the collection.
“It’s going to be an asset to Tallgrass Creek because there are current books, classic books, lots of fun-to-read books, and it will be right here,” she says. “If people wake up at 11 at night and can’t get back to sleep, they can find a book here. It’s convenient. When they see the quality of books we have, we are hoping people will want to donate more.”
