THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Tallgrass Creek is getting a new neighbor that will give residents the opportunity to shop at national retailers and local boutiques and eat at both formal and casual restaurants.
Corbin Park, the developing shopping area, will add to Tallgrass Creek’s many amenities—the Sunflower Bistro, Blue Sky Restaurant, Hillcrest Bank, fitness center, aquatics center, post office, and others.
Great location
“Erickson really hit a home run when it was selecting a site for Tallgrass Creek,” says Marketing Director Suzanne Cole. “We knew the nexus of 135th and Metcalf would be a great draw for our future residents because of all the wonderful shopping and services located close by. Corbin Park is certainly a big part of that.”
‘Retail village’
Currently under construction, the site is at the southeast corner of 135th and Metcalf—across the street from Tallgrass Creek. Scheduled to open in fall 2008, Corbin Park will have between 80 and 100 stores and restaurants and more than a million square feet in what the developer, the Omaha-based Cormac Company, calls an “open retail village.”
Anchor stores will be JC Penney, Best Buy, and Barnes & Noble. Others include Gordon Biersch brewery restaurant, Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano, Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse, Old Navy, and Backwoods outdoor store.
Added features
A boutique hotel and movie theater have also committed to Corbin Park, but the names have not yet been made public, says Susy Schwede, director of marketing for Cormac Co. An amphitheater and water feature are also planned.
“We’re going to have a very unique atmosphere,” Schwede says. “The location has great access and great traffic.”
Once Corbin Park opens, a shuttle service may be offered for residents interested in shopping there, says Lisa Seigler, trip coordinator for Tallgrass Creek. Currently, shuttle service is offered to area grocery stores, drug stores, and large retail stores.
