THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
For Virginia Klasinski, it’s all about the socializing— and at Tallgrass Creek, there will be plenty of it.
In December she and her husband Bill Klasinski will be moving from Fairway, Kans., to their new home in this amenity-rich community in Overland Park. They have already met some of their future neighbors at events sponsored by Tallgrass Creek, which have increased their enthusiasm about the change.
“I can’t wait to meet people at dinner or at a card game or in the swimming pool. I like people. I’m a people person,” Virginia Klasinski says.
She enjoys bridge, and she will have plenty of partners land a place to play thanks to resident-run clubs and the lounge area in the Audubon Clubhouse.
Bill Klasinski likes to walk, so the 65-acre campus and many walking trails are ideal.
Family gathering
The Klasinskis are already planning their first Christmas in their new home. On Christmas Eve their family always gathers at their place, and this year will be no different. They will attend Mass, munch on hors d’oeuvres, and enjoy one another’s company.
After the grandchildren get tired and are taken home, the Klasinskis will sit by the Christmas tree and reminisce about the more than half century they have spent together.
“We made 50 and now we’re working on 60,” says Virginia Klasinski. “It’s been a wonderful, wonderful 50 years.” And the couple has five children, ten grandchildren, and a welcome mat that says, “There’s no place like Grandma’s and Grandpa’s,” to prove it!
Faith in the future
The Klasinskis are full of jokes and optimism.
“Why not smile at someone?” they say. “It might make a difference!”
Bill Klasinski says Tallgrass Creek offers them reason to smile: Their future is secure. They have put their faith in Erickson, and he says it is a decision they are very comfortable with.
“We don’t have any second thoughts at all.” he says. “Everything we’ve heard is positive.”
