Moving to a new home doesn’t mean giving up old friends.
For Norma and Carl Corbin of Leawood Kan., moving to Tallgrass Creek represents an opportunity to keep their current friends and routines while also expanding their social horizons.
“We love meeting new people,” Carl says. “To us, Tallgrass Creek simply means more time for fun and more time for friends.”
Norma said that she and her husband travel each morning to get a cup of coffee at a local fast food restaurant. Their schedule won’t change, but where they get their coffee will. “We will still be getting coffee, but we’ll just be going down to the Sunflower Bistroor the Audubon Market to grab it.” Carl added, “You meet people, and get into a routine. It will be nice to do that at Tallgrass Creek.”
Great minds think alike…
But the couple won’t be giving up friends at Tallgrass Creek. Carl said that some of the acquaintances the couple has made at the fast food restaurant are also members of Tallgrass Creek’s Priority List. They too will be moving to the new community when it opens later this year.
He said, “Everything you need is right under one roof. If there’s bad weather, or you’re having car trouble, there’s no reason to miss out on anything social. It means an awful lot to us to see these people out and about, and it means an awful lot more to know that they all have the same idea of moving to Tallgrass Creek.”
Saying ‘no’ to slow!
The couple is also interested in Tallgrass Creek as a way to keep up their bustling lifestyle. Carl is looking forward to walking the secure campus grounds and exploring the manicured walking trails. But for Norma, she prefers to stay active without the elements.
“You can walk anywhere you want, if the weather is good or bad,” Norma said. “We walk everywhere as it is, but it will be so nice to be able to use the weatherproof walkways when the weather’s bad outside.”
