Todd
and Beth Cannon of Overland Park, Kan. chose Tallgrass Creek so they could keep on moving. They want to keep on traveling.
“It was really the lock and leave idea that we were attracted to,” Todd said about the couple’s choice to join the Priority List at Tallgrass Creek.
The avid travelers have a van that’s ready to go at any time. “It’s nice being able to just hit the road when you want to,” he said. And later this year, the Cannons will be doing just that when they travel to France with their six children.
“It’s nice to have the security of a gated community where you know your home and things are secure and will be watched,” Beth said. “And it’s nice to have the front desk to take care of your mail.”
A home base
Before they chose Tallgrass Creek, they traveled around the country and looked at communities in Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona. “We loved all of those areas but we are blessed to have deep roots in Kansas City. We are still very involved with our high school class…and we volunteer at our local church.” Todd added, “We are still very active and don’t see that decreasing.”
Todd said that the couple did their research and investigated a wide variety of retirement options.
“Economically, we figured that we would probably have more disposable income to travel” to those areas if we moved to Tallgrass Creek. “Luckily we have friends with homes throughout the country so if we ever want to travel, we can just call and stay with them,” Todd said with a chuckle.
