Tour ‘made the decision easy’

THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Overland Park resident James Izzard was interested in moving to Tallgrass Creek. He and his wife were looking for a home for the future.
They had considered quite a few retirement living options in Overland Park and the Kansas City area, but just weren’t ready to commit to a community until they could see the floor plans and clubhouse amenities that were available at Tallgrass Creek.
But the homes at Tallgrass Creek will not be completed until next year. So how did James and his wife Peggy decide to join the Priority List?
“The advertising caught our eye, and we just stopped in to the Welcome Center one day,” Izzard said.
He knew about the maintenance-free lifestyle and the value of the 100% Refundable Entrance Deposit. Then, James and his wife met with Retirement Counselor Jane McIntire. The couple was given a virtual tour of the apartment styles they were considering. The Izzards beat the rush and now find themselves ahead of the more than the 20 people who join the Priority List each month at Tallgrass Creek.
The information they needed
It was the virtual tour that excited the former professional steel salesman. “We were so impressed with the virtual apartment tour that we thought it would be neat to see the real thing. It was so well done.” He said of the virtual tour, “It’s what gave my wife and I the boost to see [Eagles Trace in] Houston. It just confirmed the idea that this was a worthwhile thing.”
Fortunately for Izzard, he was getting ready to visit his son in a former hometown of Houston. “We couldn’t believe it. We were leaving to go to Houston and just four or five miles from where we used to live, we saw that Erickson had a community.”
