Erickson developed the Priority List to ensure that individuals who were interested in moving to an Erickson Retirement Community, and acted quickly, were rewarded with the best available home selections. Here, Jane McIntire, retirement counselor at Tallgrass Creek, answers the most frequent questions about the Priority List at Tallgrass Creek.
Q: What is the Priority List?
A: The Priority List consists of people who are interested in moving to Tallgrass Creek. A fully-refundable $1,000 deposit per-household and a $150 per-person non-refundable application fee are all it takes to join and secure your Priority List date. Then, you pick the styles of home that you are most interested in and when one of those becomes available, you are given the right of first refusal according to your Priority List date.
Q: How is your Priority List date determined?
A: Your position on the list is based upon the date your refundable priority deposit is submitted. So the sooner you join, the better your choices. People are joining at a rate of approximately 20 per month. And since we’ve celebrated our Ground Breaking, the numbers are rising every day. Unfortunately, every day you wait to call, another person, sometimes two, gets ahead of you in line.
Q: Do I have to be ready to move in right away?
A: No. Joining the Priority List simply gives you options and lets you better control your ability to choose. Once you are a member, you will be contacted periodically when a home-style that matches your interests becomes available. If you are not ready to move, just let us know. Unlike other communities, you never lose your spot in line. Your priority date remains in tact. Do your research. You’ll find that Tallgrass Creek is the only community where your deposit never expires. You can even transfer your priority date to other Erickson communities, and move ahead in line over everyone with a priority date after yours.
