THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
If you’ve driven by 139th and Metcalf in Overland Park, you’ve seen the site. The signs are in place, the Welcome Center is open for visitors, and now bulldozers are doing their job on campus.
More than 150 guests, including the Governor of Kansas Kathleen Sebelius, U.S. Congressman Dennis Moore, Mayor of Overland Park Carl Gerlach, and other local representatives helped break ground at Tallgrass Creek, a new Erickson community being built in Overland Park, Kan.
“I want you to know that we’re a lot more than just about housing,” founder and CEO of Erickson communities John Erickson said to the guests. “Our whole mission is to make life better for people in their retirement years. The housing is just one aspect. We want people to live healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives. Why hold on with white knuckles to an unfulfilling lifestyle?”
A new style of life
Tallgrass Creek is scheduled to open late next year. It will feature enclosed, weather-proof walkways connecting spacious apartment homes to an amenity rich clubhouse and restaurants. The community will have a safe, maintenance-free campus and a full Fitness Center that includes an all-season pool.
Elaine Douglas
from Prairie Village, Kan., joined the Priority List to give herself the best opportunity to reserve one of the new homes. “The maintenancefree lifestyle is something I can really get excited about—no more yard work and more time to do the things I really want to. Next year can’t come soon enough. I’m ready to move in today.”
