Tallgrass Creek, Erickson’s 18th community, will offer a dynamic lifestyle and community atmosphere that is unparalleled. In May, the doors of the Welcome Center opened at the intersection of Metcalf Avenue and 139th Street.

Former Kansas Citians add to over 17,000 residents who live in Erickson communities across the country and have their retirement all figured out! A few residents offer their thoughts in hopes you’ll discover how an Erickson community might be right for you, too!

All About Community

Tallgrass Creek will offer everything under one roof so residents can be free to pursue life.

Jim Guthrie, a Wichita area native who currently lives at an Erickson community in Maryland says, “Kansas Citians will enjoy the experience of being in a community like Tallgrass Creek. An Erickson community is a great place to spend your retirement years.”

Ginny Caldwell, an Erickson resident from Kansas City, MO., says, “Living in an Erickson community you meet people you never would have met before, and they’re delightful!”

Ken Caldwell, Ginny’s husband, says, “All the buildings on campus are connected by covered, enclosed, heated or cooled walkways, so you can walk from one end of campus to the other and not step outside.” On the way you could tone-up in the Fitness Center or the indoor pool and spa, make a deposit at the bank, and pick up milk at the Audubon Market, an on-campus convenience store. You might even have time for a manicure at the salon and spa.

Bob Krebs, an Erickson resident who lived in Overland Park for over 15 years, says, “I can walk to the doctor’s office. They even have specialists so I can get all the care I choose.”

According to Guthrie, “Everything you want or need is conveniently on campus.” If not, Ginny Caldwell adds, “The shuttle service is terrific and very reliable to do local errands or private cars will take you off-site for a small fee.”

Way to Live Well

One of the greatest benefits of living in an Erickson community is that everything is taken care of for you! You won’t lift a finger to fix another thing, not a leaky faucet, and definitely not dinner if you don’t want to.

Ginny Caldwell states, “The amenities are endless, and the staff gives boundless service.”

The full-service staff cooks, cleans, fixes, and works hard to ensure life is all you want it to be. Krebs says, “The maintenance staff is wonderful. I miss yard work like I miss hitting myself with a hammer. Everything is beautifully maintained, with no effort on my part.”

Ken Caldwell adds, “For those reluctant to leave their homes, at a community like Tallgrass Creek there are no roof repairs, hot water tank replacements, lawn is to mow, or snow to shovel. You watch someone else do it which gives you more time.”

Preparing dinner is even a chore of the past, Caldwell says, “Ginny doesn’t have to shop at the grocery store for the evening meal. Or prepare, or clean up. We just enjoy.”

Tallgrass Creek offers a full-service lifestyle so that residents have time and freedom to enjoy life and the retirement they’ve worked so hard to secure.

Great Value

Tallgrass Creek secures your nest egg for you and your legacy with the 100% Refundable Entrance Deposit. Ken Caldwell states, “Financially, John Erickson is revolutionizing retirement communities because of the 100 percent refundable deposit. That’s something you couldn’t find before Erickson.”

Guthrie explains, “Erickson’s financial program and the refundable deposit helped us choose to live here.”

Ideal for Kansas Citians

Tallgrass Creek offers a lifestyle that’s unprecedented in the greater Kansas City area. The Caldwells say, “We highly recommend coming in early, getting acquainted, and enjoying this life.”

Krebs says, “My wife and I planned to move to an Erickson community even before I retired, and we’re very happy we did. We have everything we want here.”

Summing it up perfectly, Ken Caldwell says, “There’s so much more to living when you’re living in an Erickson community.”
