Local community embodies 2008 theme for Older Americans Month

As baby boomers approach retirement age, older Americans are becoming one of the largest and most influential demographics in the country. In recognition of the important role that older adults play in our society, the U.S. government has declared May "Older Americans Month."

The first baby boomers will turn 62 this year, and this generation of retirees is poised to redefine prevailing conceptions of aging, according to a recent report  from the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA).

The Internet isn’t changing the world. It already has. Computers and the Internet touch every aspect of modern life, from keeping in touch with friends to paying bills to booking vacations. It is literally everywhere, and it is here to stay.
