Sedgebrook families got a special treat this fall when the community hosted a celebration for Grandparents Day in September. The fun-filled day featured a bean bag toss, Ping-Pong competition, plenty of splashing in the pool, and many laughs and warm memories for everyone. After working up an appetite with all of the activities, the kids were treated to ice cream in the courtyard with their grandparents.
Jean Noble is a grandmother of 11, and 2 of her youngest grandchildren joined her at Sedgebrook for Grandparents Day.
“They were in the water for a good part of the time, playing with floating equipment and balls,” she says of her grandkids. “My six-year-old granddaughter was quite taken with the bean bag game.”
Noble says the day was a great opportunity for residents to get to know one another’s families. And she says having the kids on campus was a treat for the entire community, even residents whose grandchildren weren’t able to attend.
“[The children] got to visit with some of our neighbors who came down for the event and didn’t have grandchildren there,” she says.
