THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
With campus-style independent retirement living becoming more popular in the Chicago area, Sedgebrook Retirement Counselors Tracy Dellaria and Michelle Moran say that many of the Lincolnshire community’s most popular apartment home models are selling out.
That’s why they are encouraging people interested in the Erickson retirement lifestyle to reserve a home now—even if they are still in the process of selling their house.
“People can reserve something here at Sedgebrook, and we can hold it until they sell their house,” Moran says.
Experts at your service
Moran says Sedgebrook offers resources to help people sell their houses more quickly—so they can begin enjoying all the amenities the community has to offer.
Erickson Realty & Moving Services is a new program designed to help people sell their house quickly and more easily. The on-site realty and moving team can provide referrals for movers, Realtors, and other contractors. They will even visit prospective residents’ houses to give them staging and realty advice to help their house sell more quickly.
A new home for life
Kathryn Moeller is one of many people who heeded Dellaria’s and Moran’s advice. Moeller recently reserved an apartment home at Sedgebrook. The third-floor unit has two bedrooms and a den, and is conveniently located close to the elevator, giving Moeller easy outdoor access to walk her dog several times a day.
Although she has not yet sold her house in Williams Bay, Wisc., Moeller says she didn’t want to wait any longer to secure a home for her retirement at Sedgebrook.
She admits that it will be difficult to part with the house where she has lived for many years. But she says the upkeep of her house was becoming a burden, and climbing the stairs irritated her knee. “Life moves on, and I’m moving on,” she says.
