THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Proving that staying in
shape doesn’t always require
tedious hours on the treadmill,
many fun-loving folks
at Sedgebrook have signed
up for the community’s new
line dancing class.
The simple dance moves
not only improve balance
and coordination, but the
catchy music can lift your
spirits as well.
“So far we know the
‘Electric Slide’ and just
started going over the ‘Achy
Breaky Heart,’” says Fitness
Specialist Katie Snezhkova.
“To our residents it is a great
way to get some exercise and
have fun at the same time.”
Belle Pottishmann hails
from Missouri and has been
line dancing for years. The
active 92-year-old works out
regularly at Sedgebrook’s
fitness center, but she says
southern-style line dancing is
a fun way to add exercise to
her daily routine.
“I may be the oldest one
here, but I bet you I am the
most active,” she says with
a laugh. “I think it’s just
wonderful exercise. I bought
a DVD, and I practice here
in my kitchen.”
