This March, a bus packed with 35 men and women from Illinois hit the road on an overnight excursion to Michigan to get a glimpse of their future. 

The group, all members of the Sedgebrook Priority List, traveled to Fox Run, Sedgebrook’s sister community in Novi, Michigan, to get a preview of what the new community will look like when it opens later this summer.   

“This is the third trip of this kind that we’ve taken,” says Laurie Albertson, sales associate at Sedgebrook.

“Until Sedgebrook opens, these trips give people a better idea of what our communities are all about. They’re able to tour the amenities in the clubhouses, dine in the restaurants, see the actual apartment floor plans, and even talk with people who live at an Erickson community to find out first-hand what the lifestyle is like,” she says.

The trip was also an opportunity for members of the Priority List to get to know one another.

“I think everyone had a nice time,” says Laurie. “They really got to know each other and make new friends which is nice since many of them will one day be neighbors,” she says. 

“It was well worth the trip,” says Priority List member Norman Karolewski who attended the trip with his wife Geri.

“Things look a lot a different in person than they do in a brochure or pictures. I thought Fox Run was very nice. We spent the night in a nearby hotel where we had dinner together and the next day toured the community and had lunch there. We enjoyed seeing some of the furnished apartments. In fact one of the designs we were interested in turned out not to be what were looking for and we ended up finding a different floor plan we liked better,” he says.

Sedgebrook is located on the North Shore in the beautiful village of Lincolnshire. 

The 92-acre community opening summer 2005 will feature a 52,000 square-foot clubhouse with dining, shopping, banking, an all-season swimming pool, Medical Center, and more.
