THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Even though it is one of the newest Erickson retirement communities, when it comes to resident satisfaction, Sedgebrook is at the head of the class, according to the most recent survey results.
The leadership team of the Lincolnshire community conducted a comprehensive poll that measured residents’ satisfaction with a variety of services and amenities—from the taste and presentation of the food to the look of the grounds to the quality of the medical care.
Sedgebrook achieved nearly 100% satisfaction in a number of areas, including staff friendliness, confidence in medical care, and attractiveness of landscaping and exterior grounds.
Community safety and security ranks near top
One of the most important criteria by which any retirement community is judged is the safety and security it provides to the people who live there. Residents need to know that their homes are secure, and families want to be assured that their loved ones will be given the best possible care in the event of a medical emergency.
Sedgebrook scored nearperfect resident satisfaction with security and emergency services. Keeping the community safe isn’t an easy job, but it is one that Facilities Manager Gary Kupsak and his team are absolutely devoted to.
“We try to emphasize within our team that we should give the same level of care and concern to our residents as we do to members of our own family,” Kupsak says. “Our department motto of ‘complete care with concern,’ is what we strive for during all interactions with residents.”
Dedicated staff makes a happy home
Executive Director Ian Brown says he is pleased with the survey results, especially the high score received on staff interaction with community members. More than 96% of residents responded that Sedgebrook’s staff is “friendly and courteous.”
