THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Tracy Dellaria
knows the name of every single person living at Sedgebrook. As the community’s retirement counselor, Dellaria serves as an “ambassador” of sorts for people who want to learn more about the Erickson retirement lifestyle.
When people make an appointment with Dellaria, they don’t just get a tour and brochures. Dellaria uses her expertise about full-service retirement living to help people explore their options.
‘Explore your options’
“You at least owe it to yourself to explore your options,” Dellaria tells people who visit Sedgebrook in Lincolnshire. “Maybe this isn’t the thing for them, but at least they can explore it.”
Dellaria says most people who schedule an appointment and tour are quickly won over by the supportive community, variety of activities and pursuits, comfortable apartment homes, and friendly staff they see at Sedgebrook.
“The thing that stands out the most to me is watching them go through the entire process, from the day that they come meet me—and their guard is up—and then it unfolds,” Dellaria says. “They become involved or they tell other residents, later, how much they enjoy living here—that makes it for me.”
Everyone feels welcome
In addition to the special bonds Dellaria forms with Sedgebrook community members, she says her colleagues make her job a joy.
“We’re all striving toward the same goal,” she says. “I think everyone works really hard here to make everyone feel welcome.”
Dellaria says people who visit Sedgebrook routinely comment that the staff is extraordinarily friendly. The dedication of the Sedgebrook staff not only makes it a great place to work for employees, but also a wonderful place to live for residents.
