It’s been just a few weeks since the two-day Erickson Tribune Fair at Monarch Landing and Sedgebrook, and we’re still talking about it here at the newspaper’s offices in Baltimore!
The original idea behind the fair was to bring the stories in the
Tribune to life—to take our mission of Inform-Inspire-Involve from printed page to actual event. Little did I know that the people who live and work at Monarch Landing and Sedgebrook would roll out the welcome mat for two of the best weekend parties I’ve ever attended.
It’s not every day a newspaper staff can see first-hand how people generate such excitement in so many different ways—participating in the Iron Chef competitions, taking part in virtual bowling tournaments, getting their picture taken with the Tribune in an exotic location. I haven’t even touched on the food, exhibits, and special celebrity appearances courtesy of Retirement Living TV.
I met so many warm and friendly people—literally hundreds of fair goers—you have got to be the nicest folks in the country!
Thank you for welcoming The Erickson Tribune into your home every month and for sharing a memorable weekend for our very first Tribune Fair. I hope you’ll write and tell me what you liked best about the fair and also what topics you want to read about in future issues of the Trib.
Warm regards,
Deborah Dasch, Editor
