Variety show brings community together

Monarch Landing ommunity members and taff showcased their talents nd shared some laughs at a esident-produced variety show ast month.
The restaurant was ransformed into a theatre for he evening, complete with stage, lighting, and sound system. The performers, who had been rehearsing for several weeks, entertained the room full of friends and neighbors.
Community and camaraderie
The variety show included two couples making music with hand bells, a large group of line dancers, a witty spoof about lawyers, and even a Willie Nelson impersonation.
In between acts, the crew played videos called “Monarch Landing on the Streets” in which residents and employees shared their thoughts about living and working at the community. Aside from drawing laughs from the crowd, the videos highlighted the spirit of community and camaraderie that exists throughout the campus.
From the song and dance numbers to the comedy sketches, the show got rave reviews from the audience. The entire cast finished with an ensemble performance of the song, “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”
“It took a lot of work, but people loved it, and I’m sure we’ll do it again next year,” says resident Elaine Brinkman, who helped organize the show.
