Posted on Wednesday, December 27, 2006

Lincolnshire, Ill.—College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill., is now offering one of its professional cooking classes, “Principles of Food Preparation I,” in the kitchens of Sedgebrook.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the College of Lake County,” says Sedgebrook Dining Services Director Stephen Aigner. “Our new relationship with the college will build exposure to the opportunities that we offer at Sedgebrook, both now and in the future, in addition to providing a state-of-the-art facility for the college to utilize. I am excited that we will help individuals in our neighborhood be introduced to Erickson as a great place to both live and work.”

The class will be offered Saturdays beginning January 21. The small class of up to 15 students will learn restaurant cooking— including skills for soups, sauces, and entrees—from professional chef instructors. (Kate Newton Schmelyun)
