From Your Home to the Shoreline Restaurant—Your Thanksgiving Celebration Is as You Like It

THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

To cook or not to cook. To have a Norman Rockwell-type family affair in your apartment home, or simply kick back and enjoy the delights of the community restaurant or private dining room.

Celebrating the joys of this uniquely American holiday has never come with so many options. It’s the kind of feast that can only happen at Sedgebrook.

Everything You Need to Cook Up a Feast
If you believe the holidays simply aren’t perfect without the tradition of putting everything together yourself and seeing family and friends gathered around the dining room table, there’s good news.

Your kitchen at Sedgebrook is fully equipped to become feast preparation headquarters. Plenty of counter and cabinet space provides all the room you need to mix the stuffing just right, pat down the pie crust, and dish out the cranberry sauce. The large, modern range that comes standard in each home is ready to cook the turkey, ham—or both. In the fridge, all the goodies prepared ahead of time are waiting at just the right temperature for hungry guests gathered in your living room.

Let the Professionals Do the Cooking
However, if cooking isn’t your thing—no worries. For those who’d rather leave the holiday cooking to a professional, there’s always the Shoreline restaurant. Relax and let Sedgebrook handle all of the details.

“Dining at the Shoreline is a wonderful experience any time of the year,” says Kathryn Lord of Grayslake. “It’s not just dinner; it’s a social hour. You don’t sit down in your kitchen, eat a meal, and then leave your kitchen. It’s like a party. We look forward to going to the restaurant and meeting new people.”

Thanksgiving is even more special. The Shoreline serves up a feast that caters to just about every taste and is guaranteed to make everybody in your family forget their diets and dig right in. Or maybe you’d prefer to gather the family together in the private dining room. Just reserve in advance and enjoy an intimate family meal without ever turning on the stove or touching a single dirty dish.

Last year, Mary Bazell of Vernon Hills hosted a holiday party in her home at Sedgebrook. “I had 16 people over for the holidays. I didn’t cook. But I had drinks and hors d’oeuvres beforehand, and then we went down to the restaurant.” By letting Sedgebrook handle the big details, Mary could relax and enjoy her company.

After Dinner, There’s Much More to Do
Of course, there’s more to a Sedgebrook Thanksgiving than great food. There are fully furnished guest suites available for a nominal fee where family and friends from out of town can spend a night or two. The convenience store is located right inside the clubhouse, and is stocked with everything your guests may have forgotten for an over-night stay.

After dinner, play a little pool or deal a few hands of cards in the game room. If you’re feeling a little guilty about breaking your diet, head to the Fitness Center the following morning. The heated, indoor swimming pool is just waiting for all your guests to make a splash. Or, for the golf enthusiast in your family, the putting green offers a fun-filled challenge.

Your friends and family are certain to toast you for planning the most delicious, most fun-filled, and most unforgettable Thanksgiving yet.
