Now, Dawn plans events for people who want to learn more about Sedgebrook, like open houses and informational luncheons. Even when Dawn isn’t at work, she finds herself talking enthusiastically about Sedgebrook to anyone who will listen. “There isn’t anything else out there like Sedgebrook—between the 100% Refundable Entrance Deposit and all of the social opportunities. There’s a club forming everyday: bowling, a ladies lunch group, gardening, woodshop. You name it.”
Dawn’s interests revolve mostly around her two small children. She likes to take them camping or to the park as often as she can.
The Source on All Things Sedgebrook
Just past the reception area in the Sales and Marketing office sits Retirement Counselor Tracy Dellaria—rather, that’s where Tracy would sit if she wasn’t up all day meeting with visitors and giving guided tours of the clubhouse and model homes.
Tracy says she never gets tired of showing people around the community she loves so much. “It’s so important for people to visit and see Sedgebrook for themselves because there’s just so much here that the Information Kit is not going to be able to explain. When you see Sedgebrook first-hand, you’ll understand why this is such a great place to live.”
A native of Chicagoland, Tracy is always happy to talk about her favorite sports teams, the Red Wings and the Cubs. She’s even more enthusiastic when discussing her team at Sedgebrook. “What most impresses me is the teamwork. Everyone is genuinely friendly and willing to go above and beyond for the people who live here. We have so many accomplished people who live here, and it’s a joy to be able to come to work and learn from different people everyday.”
New Opportunities at Sedgebrook
Allison Marsai
began her career answering phones at Fox Run, an Erickson community in Novi, Michigan. That was five years ago. She has since worked her way up to the role of sales and marketing director at Sedgebrook.
Allison believes that people’s lives change for the better when they move to Sedgebrook. “Just the other day, one of our residents told me that had she not moved when she did, she would have missed out on a whole year of amazing experiences. She listed off all the clubs and events like the homecoming party and the New Year’s Eve ball. She said that even when she goes away, she hurries right back so that she won’t miss anything.”
When you attend one of Sedgebrook’s informal luncheon seminars, chances are you’ll meet Allison in the lobby of the Cardinal Clubhouse. She loves to greet visitors and show them around the community. When she’s not hard at work coordinating the team at Sedgebrook, Allison mentors a girl’s group. Currently, she’s training for a marathon, though she admits that most of her time lately has been spent planning her upcoming wedding.
Making Your Move Easy
“I’ve helped move over 200 people,” says Sedgebrook’s Move- In Coordinator
Debra Blakely. “I haven’t had any of them tell me that they’re sorry they moved here. Just the opposite. They all tell me ‘I’m so glad I’m here and so happy that I made the move’.”
Debra’s woodworking background makes her particularly qualified to help people measure and plan for space. After completing an 8,000-hour apprenticeship, Debra earned her journey papers in industrial woodworking and loves to build her own furniture. She helps people planning their move to Sedgebrook sell or donate furniture that they no longer want, de-clutter, find reliable packing services, and more.
“I really enjoy coming to Sedgebrook each day because I think we have a terrific team,” says Debra. “A friendly and helpful nature is a prerequisite for working here.”
