THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
People living at Sedgebrook are hanging up their pots and pans and making a beeline to Sedgebrook’s restaurants instead.
And it's really no surprise. When you consider the delectable and healthy menu selections—from melt-in-your-mouth beef tenderloin to fresh grilled catch-of-the-day —you start to understand why people go on and on about the delicious food served in Sedgebrook’s on-site restaurants.
“Sedgebrook does the cooking for me!” says Ginger Kotz, who moved from Chicago. “Preparing a whole meal for myself in my house felt like a chore.”
“At dinner, you meet everyone,” says Lorraine Rothermel from Buffalo Grove. “You can sit with different people every night and get acquainted.”
The ambiance is elegant yet relaxing, the wait staff is attentive and friendly, and the company is always warm, interesting, and engaging. Best of all you get to relax while someone else cleans up and washes the dishes.
It All Boils Down to Service Excellence
While the food at Sedgebrook is inarguably delicious, the wait staff makes the dining experience even more appealing.
Sedgebrook is very selective about the staff they hire. In fact, the wait staff goes through a comprehensive training period where they learn the basics of the job and their responsibilities like taking orders, explaining specials, carrying a tray, etc.
Perhaps the first thing you’ll notice about the wait staff when you set foot in one of Sedgebrook’s restaurants is it’s largely comprised of high school students. Ever since Erickson communities first began, it has been the company's policy to hire young people as a way to promote intergenerational interaction.
“The food is excellent – top notch – and the service is great. Having the young high school students serving here is a great opportunity for them,” says Joslen Letscher, who lives at Fox Run an Erickson community located in Michigan.
