Sedgebrook Hosts Opening Ceremonies, Free Fitness Expo
Sedgebrook is proud to host the 2006 Six County Senior Olympics kick-off ceremony on Monday, July 17. With a huge turn-out expected, the community has planned a morning of fun fitness events to cheer on Chicagoland’s best athletes.
Honoring the Athletes
Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m at Sedgebrook, where athletes will be treated to a breakfast of champions before biking, running, and swimming their way to the gold.
Presented by The Illinois Parks and Recreation Association, the Six County Senior Olympics challenges athletes in categories like tennis, golf, track and field, and many other sporting events.
Sedgebrook and its sister community, Monarch Landing in Naperville, are sponsors.
Fun and Fitness for Everyone
Not only will the Opening Ceremonies at Sedgebrook celebrate the exceptional athletes participating, it will also showcase important health and fitness information for everyone.
From special talks by fitness experts, to a bloodpressure screening, to a health expo inside the 52,000 square-foot Cardinal Clubhouse—the Opening Ceremonies at Sedgebrook will feature something for everyone interested in staying fit and healthy longer.
This kick-off event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Anyone interested in attending and cheering on the Olympians should call 1-800-617-6610 to reserve.
