Cool off this summer with a refreshing dose of Hollywood 101, Shakespeare, or Saloon Singers. Or cut a rug and beat the heat in Beginning or Intermediate Line Dancing.

SCAN Learning Center, a nonprofit organization providing a wide range of educational opportunities for older adults in Monmouth and surrounding  counties, has posted its summer and fall schedules on its website, www.scannj.com. A SCAN membership is required but available to anyone at least 50 years of age at a reasonable fee.

“Because SCAN is a not-for-profit organization, the classes are really a perfect way to continue education in a cost-effective way,” says Barbara Chachko, a  Seabrook sales associate who joined the SCAN Board of Directors last spring.
