How Renaissance Gardens keeps us together

By Wendy J. Meyeroff
THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE

John Daly has no problem visiting his wife of 57 years, Patricia. Patricia lives at Renaissance Gardens, an extended care neighborhood that is part of John’s community. A shuttle ride makes it easy for John to visit, even in bad weather.

The music connection
Patricia has a private room (standard at Renaissance Gardens), so John can bring music to her. “If she was sharing a room, I might not be able to play the Frank Sinatra album she likes any time,” he adds.

Patricia has kept the same doctor from when the Daly’s, moved in; he is at the on-site Medical Center. John also praises the nursing team on duty 24/7. “They know her well so they can tell when something’s changed and address it,” he says.
