THE ERICKSON TRIBUNE
Snow is falling, the air is bitter, roads are icy and unsafe…and you need to go to the bank.
Fortunately for people who live and work at Seabrook, a branch of the nationally-run PNC Bank is conveniently located right on campus. Being able to do all their banking where they live without having to drive is a compelling benefit for most people.
“This bank has taken care of everything I need. I am able to manage my personal trust and other financial needs,” says Betty Lovanyak, a retired tax consultant who lives at Seabrook.
The main banking facility and one ATM are located in the Town Center clubhouse near the lobby, convenience store, and salon. A second ATM is located in Village Square.
Full banking services
In addition to both ATMs, the Seabrook PNC branch offers a broad range of banking services. “We do everything that any fullservice bank would do,” says Betty Rogers, teller manager. According to PNC’s website (www.pnc.com), services include checking, savings accounts, loans, credit lines, investments and wealth management, insurance, and QuickSwitch.
QuickSwitch, an especially useful online program, allows people to change banks quickly and easily. “The program actually allows us to write the necessary letters and documents for a person who wants to change banks,” Rogers says.
Updating Social Security and Medicare is just as easy as transferring banks. “I call for the client while they are here in my office, then they talk to the Social Security office themselves,” Rogers says. To make things even more convenient, updating Social Security automatically updates a person’s Medicare address, too.
Direct deposits encouraged
While updating your address is necessary, the Social Security Administration “strongly encourages” direct deposits for all its payment recipi ents. And last May, the Treasury Department issued an advisory that also urged direct deposits:
