Each month I meet with hundreds of people eager to learn more about Erickson’s dynamic lifestyle at our free informational luncheons. The following are answers to the two most frequently asked questions I encountered last month.
Q: I have another home that I plan to live in part of the year. What sort of credit will I receive if I’m not living at Riderwood year-round?
A: Any time you leave your apartment home for seven consecutive days you will receive a credit of $11 a day per person for up to 90 days. After 90 days you will receive $15 a day per apartment. This credit is referred to as a non-occupancy credit, since you will not be using many of the utilities included in your monthly service package such as electricity and water.
Q: I keep hearing about “maintenance-free” living. What exactly does that mean?
A: One of the wonderful benefits of leaving your current house and moving to an Erickson community is the independence and quality time you’ll enjoy because you’ll no longer have to worry about home maintenance. For example, if anything breaks or needs repair in your home, such as a toilet overflowing or a stove that won’t heat, a simple call to our in-house maintenance department is all you need to do. You’ll enjoy peace of mind knowing that our maintenance staff is available for emergency repairs 24 hours a day. That means no more rearranging your schedule or waiting for a repairperson.
